Goodwill Eating Charity Food Fair 2019 in aid of the Federation of Thalassaemia Societies held on the 18th August at SJK (C) Shang Wu, Penang. Besides raising fund, the charity event was to create public awareness on thalassaemia, a blood disorder that affects many Malaysians. There are some one million thalassaemia carriers in the country, or one in 20 Malaysians who are carrying the genetic blood disorder. Sufferers of this disease are unable to break down iron in their body efficiently, which causes a symptom of minor and severe anaemia.
PW supported by sponsoring our Fish Goujons, Tempura Prawns and Chilli Squid Chunks to the organizer to sell at the food fair and all proceeds to be donated to the Societies who support the welfare and health care of both adults and children having Thalassaemia in Malaysia – a blood condition where the patients require regular monthly blood transfusions and daily medicines.
